NCGE & Nystrom Geography Award

The Nystrom/Herff Jones Education Division will provide one $1,500 cash award to a K-12 teacher (or group of teachers) for an exemplary classroom presentation.  The awardee will also receive a one-year NCGE membership, waiver of the National Conference registration fee, and a plaque that will be presented at the National Conference on Geographic Education in San Juan, Puerto Rico.  Formats for the presentation may include lessons, simulations, workshops, or other learning activities.  Applications must be postmarked by April 13, 2009.  Winners of the Nystrom scholarship award will be required to present their lessons at the National Conference on Geographic Education in San Juan (September 23-27, 2009) in order to receive the scholarship.  These workshop sessions are scheduled to last forty-five minutes.  If your lesson is selected to receive the award, a session will be scheduled for its presentation in the conference program.  Additional information and application documents may be found online at http://www.ncge.org/files/public/Nystrom2009Flyer2.pdf.
