GIS Day in Hartford – November 18

The State of Connecticut Geospatial Information Systems Council Education and Outreach Working Group is planning for the annual “GIS Day” event to be held November 18, 2009 at the State Legislative Office Building in Hartford. “GIS Day” is part of the National Geographic Society's Geography Action, a year-long initiative encompassing key educational achievements such as GIS Day and Geography Awareness Week. The Council’s event will consist of a half day of information and educational presentations by GIS professionals from around the state, and a gallery of maps on display. In addition, as part of our event, we are holding a contest for school students to participate in to promote geography awareness and education! Details of the contest rules and prize can be found on the attached flyer. For additional information, please contact Thad Dymkowski, (tdymkowski@newingtonct.gov p: 860 659-8592). We hope to have your participation and look forward to your class entry! Best of luck!
